To be or not to be.
Just got done checking out the new version of Word Press… the specs anyway. I think I need to upgrade; but I’m not feeling that froggy tonight. Besides miltownkid took the easy way out when he installed my wordpress and now I have all sorts of problems with it. I’ll save it for the weekend so I have time to back up everything.
I’ve picked up a new hobby the past week, but we’ll have to get back to that later. In part, this plays a huge part in me not posting this past week… which brings me to… my problem.
I’m addicted to… gadgets! Lately have been on a gadget spending spree, and I need to chill that shit out. I’ve dropped a lot of cash in the last 4 months. Each time I pick something up, I’m like, cool I’m done, I don’t need anything else, then a week later, I’m like oh… I think I want… need that.
I’m done until my new phone hits the market.
I’ll post about my recent purchase this weekend.

Man… miltown and I are going to write a book. A book entitled “What Mother F$#^k#*s Should Have Learned In School.” Or maybe just “What you Should Have learned in School.”
The other day, I ran across this article… an article that spoke of a woman, a mother, 28 years of age, that died in a contest to win a Nintendo Wii. Hold your wee for a Wii. People where given eight ounces of water, every 15 minutes for 90 minutes; the person to hold their tinkle the longest wins the Nintendo Wii. The sad part about this story - the women did not win the Wii… She complained about having a headache at work later that day, went home and croaked.
Electrolytes… fancy way of saying salts. You all should know that muscular control is electrical, and that the heart is a muscle (thats why the shock your ass the resuscitate), also you should know that saltwater conducts electricity. Drinking too much water dilutes the amount of electrolytes in your system, and you friggin heart can stop.
How come no one ever told me this shit in school. I didn’t learn this until a year or so ago, but it seems like it should be common knowledge.
With all fairness to the radio station… It was 6 cups of water over a period of an hour and a half… WTF… That’s 6 of those milk sized containers you used to get with school lunch… A 40oz and a cup… 4 Beer cans worth of water. That lady must have weighed 70 lbs.
Oh wait… After the 90 mins… They snapped and started down’n water like… water. They drank much more than 48 oz.

I got my new GPS receiver today… Awesome! It’s the Garmin Mobile 10; a Bluetooth antenna/receiver that came with mapping software for Windows, Windows Mobile, and Palm. I’ve installed the maps on both my laptop and my phone, and I am super pleased with both… voice prompts and the whole nine. The version for the WM devices closely resembles the software for the nuvi line from Garmin.

Did I mention that I love this new laptop tablet convertible? Look at all of this crap I used to have to carry around that I no longer have to… except the EVDO card… I could have ordered it built into the new one, but it was a extra 265 bucks… I’m not made out of money… yet… well… just my… you know… money maker
Solid Gold.

The laptop also has proactive safety device that shuts down the hard drive when a drop is detected. Check it out.
YouTube is Effin up, so I’ll have to post the vid later.
I’ve spent the last two days playing with my new toys; and now that I have got all of my software loaded, and no more stuff on the way, maybe I can focus on work. I have a lot of stuff that I want… need to get done by the weeks end. Planning is everything, so I’d like to take the remaining two days of this and dedicate it to just that.
I kinda got stabbed in the back today by someone I considered consider a friend… but I guess all is fair in love and war. I find it hard to let shit slide sometimes… I really would like to go into more detail… but I probably shouldn’t. You know what the say… Keep them closer.
It’s gannt chart time, but after sleep of course.

Skipped out of the gym… heh!
I just have to rant about some random stuff for a moment.
The weather… for all of those in the miltown area… I’m sure you’ve noticed; it looks like our little honeymoon with mother nature is over. It’s getting frickin cold, and and the 10 day forecast shows not getting any warmer any time soon, it’s January… so I guess I can’t complain. I don’t even think any of the lakes around here are frozen… Global Warming? Maybe Al Gore was right about something… For once! I think I might have to go check out that movie he has out. (Had to take a shot at Gore at the cost of me looking ignorant… but it was worth it.)
Snooze Button… WTF? This is some lazy ass shit. maybe I’m spoiled because I have never had a job where I had to be in at a certain time… but there are plenty of times I’ve had to set an alarm to make an appointment. Set it for the time you have to get up. What’s the point of setting it early and getting 30 mins + of crappy sleep… Ahem… MJ.
And now to the main feature.
My Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet has arrived. Turned out not to be the Multi-Touch version, but I think I’m just going to rock out this one. When the unit is in tablet mode, there is no way in hell that you want the screen to accept input from anything other than the digi pen. Your hand wrests on the screen just as if you were writing on a piece of paper, so you can see where this might become a problem if your palm where to input. The only times I can see having input from your finger being used, is while the computer is: in notebook mode, there are times when messages and dialog boxes appear on the screen, and rather than reaching for the mouse, if you could clear them with a swift point to the screen… or if you have an application, such as gps software, and you have the device mounted in your car who wants to grab a stylus for some quick input? Overall I have to say the thing is bad ass… It’s going to take me a while to get used to it, and take advantage of all it has to offer, but already, I can see that this will be huge in my ongoing effort to be organized, streamlined, and connected. Time to load some software.
Tomorrow, my top secret toy gets in… so I’ll be sure to get a post in, and some pictures.
A good day/night to all!

Happy New Year everyone…
Though 8 days late…
Man the days fly be fast when you’re having fun.
I have to say… It’s good to be back at work on a Monday. Those three day weekends where actually killing me. Maybe I should get my head checked.
New Years Eve sucked ass. I wasn’t proactive at all in setting anything up, and just assumed that something would happen. Well something did, and it wasn’t good.
First off, I should have copped a nap during the day, but instead, I was being a junky, shopping for electronics all day. So needless to say, I wasn’t fully charged come night time. Since none of you asses has solid plans, I ended up agreeing to go out with MJ to a couple of her friends houses.
I’m not sure if I set myself up to be bored, or do I really not have anything in common with these people. The topic of conversation always turns out to be about animals, sports, or male body parts… After a few hours of this, my ass was ready to go home, and I did so alone. I tried to go to sleep, but was getting txt messages all they way till 5am. Why did I keep my phone on you might ask? MJ said that she was going to stay over at a friend’s house and catch a ride in the morning… I knew damn well, the way they were drinking no one would be taking anyone anywhere until early afternoon. Plus, this is Milwaukee; catching a cab here is damn near impossible, especially at 5am. So I knew I’d be getting the, ‘Can you come pick me up?’ call. So me being the caring SOB that I am tossed and turned for 5 hours till I got that call.
At this point, all I wanted to do is go to bed… Pick up MJ and back home. When I arrive at the club… ‘Can you drop so and so off at their house?’ Godamnit!
Last week Tuesday, I sat down at my desk and fired up the laptop… I realized… it’s time.
With a manufacture date of December 2002, and me picking it up shortly after, this laptop is old. IBM Think Pad T22. The best laptop I have ever owned.
I’m currently on my second hard drive, but other than that, nothing else has really given me a problem. But I think I should upgrade before it does.
After owning the T22, and using many other laptops over the years, I have yet to find anything more comfortable and functional than a Think Pad. So straight to Lenovo’s site I go.
The X60 Tablet is what I decided to get. Now I don’t know if any of you have shopped for laptops before, but there is a billion different ways you can order the damn things. I think the Think Pads are the king of offenders when it comes to this. If you take the low end of a model and the high end, they are two totally different machines and about a 2 thousand dollar price difference. The one I wanted has an option called Multi-View/Multi-Touch and a couple other bells and whistles, But the Multi-Touch is what’s important to me. The ability to use your finger as well at the digi pen to navigate the screen equals Multi-Touch (If it is true Multi-Touch, it has the ability to track multiple points on the screen simultaneously as well).
Well… I decided to check with Lenovo, and it looks like the one I ordered does not have the multi touch screen…F@&K! Not sure if I should send it back or not. Because of the way Lenovo pre packages them for third party vendors, the price difference is a thousand bucks at CDW. But if I build one on Lenovo’s site… it’s a 200 dollar diff. If it doesn’t track multiple points… I don’t know if it worth the hassle. I’ve got 30 days upon receipt to return, so I’ll review and let you guys know.
Gotta keep the DP crown.
I spent the majority of the past weekend catching up on all of the latest upcoming gadgets. As some of you may know, tis the week to find out about all of upcoming hotness for this year. The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) is now going on in Las Vegas. For the last couple of months, I’ve been waiting for someone to come out with a new PDA phone that has all of the functionality as my current, plus. Samsung has not let me down. I currently own the SCH-I730, and while I am happy with it, there are a few things that bug me about it. It shipped originally with Windows Mobile 2003 and I upgraded to 5.0. The device seems to have become somewhat unstable since I have done this, and have to reboot it at least twice a day. Second, this device is a PDA first and a phone second, wheas the Treo 700w for instance, is a phone first. Much more user friendly when it comes to making calls, but lacks the horse power and memory of the Samsung
Allow me to introduce you to the SCH-I760… the CDMA version.

As you can see, the phone is super slim, and still packs all of the power of its predecessor. They have the numeric keys on the front of the device, so that you can make a call without opening the slider, or trying to use the touch screen sans the stylus. Huge for me! Also you will notice that the keyboard now slides from the side, allowing for bigger keys. As always, looks like Verizon will be the one to pick up the phone first, and now the only question is when. Right now, they say the end of Q1, but that’s what they said when the I730 came out, and I wasn’t able to get that until August of that year.
So I guess I’ll just put up with the quirks and save my pennies until its release.
No time to proof… gotta pay some bills.
Peace!
